At Buxtons, we believe in supporting the local community, which is why we were thrilled to donate a STIHL FSA120 Strimmer to Forton Cricket Club. Ellis, our Area Sales Manager, had the pleasure of delivering the equipment and meeting some of the passionate team members who helped keep this fantastic club running.

Forton Cricket Club, founded in 1948, has been a cornerstone of the community for over 75 years. Located near Newport, this not-for-profit Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) provides playing opportunities and coaching for people of all ages. It’s particularly known for its dedication to youth and women’s cricket and its commitment to making its facilities accessible for everyone in the surrounding rural areas.
Last year, celebrating their milestone anniversary, the club embarked on an ambitious project to improve accessibility and renovate their clubhouse. These upgrades include new bi-fold doors, a family-friendly patio area, and a more accessible entrance, ensuring the space is welcoming for all. While a grant from the Rural England Prosperity Fund and the club’s own reserves provided much of the funding, unforeseen winter storm damage to the roof put their plans at risk.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the community and their crowdfunding campaign. Follow this link to check out their fundraising efforts. Forton Cricket Club successfully raised the additional funds needed to repair the roof and complete their improvements. This achievement is a testament to the strength and spirit of the local community.
We’re proud to have contributed to the club’s grounds’ upkeep and support such a dedicated and inspiring organization. Forton Cricket Club embodies the values of teamwork, inclusivity, and resilience, and we look forward to seeing them thrive for many more years.
