The new Freedom 500 battery powered range of garden tools and mowers offer all the power of petrol but with the convenience of cordless. The range is powered by STIGA E-Power 48V Lithium-Ion battery technology with interchangeable batteries and offers lightweight and ergonomic garden tools for all your gardening needs. Kit includes 2 x 5.0Ah batteries.
New for 2021, the Freedom 500 Empress range of self-propelled lawnmowers are designed for larger gardens. The self-propelled Empress 51 Li with a fixed forward speed of 3.7km/h offers a wider 51cm cutting width along with 4 cutting methods making it the perfect mower for larger gardens.
Powered by STIGA E-Power the two 48V lightweight Lithium-ion batteries and brushless motor work in harmony to deliver powerful, efficient and reliable performance without the need for petrol.
The Empress 51 Li offers 4 cutting methods giving you the choice to either collect the cuttings in the spacious 60-litre hybrid grass catcher with warning full indicator, side or rear discharge the cuttings or to mulch them to add essential nitrogen-rich fertiliser back into your lawn.
Other features include centralised cutting height adjustment and 6 different cutting height positions ranging from 22 – 80mm along with a robust steel chassis for maximum durability.
The Empress 51 Li offers a cleaner, greener mowing solution without compromising on power and performance making it the ideal mower for large sized gardens.
Batteries and chargers are available separately allowing you to choose the most suitable combination for your lawn. The Empress 51 Li comes with a standard 2-year warranty.
Using the recommend 2 x 5Ah batteries the Empress 51 Li is suitable for gardens up to 600sqm with a run time dependent on conditions of 25mins.

Mountfield Warranty
Our products are built to the highest standards of quality and performance, and our warranty policy is a statement of confidence.
STIGA Ltd. provides a warranty on its Mountfield products against defects in materials and workmanship. Our products have been manufactured to the highest quality standards and are guaranteed for domestic use against faulty parts or manufacture.
The warranty covers all parts and labour undertaken on your machine covered by this policy. This is conditional upon the repairs being carried out by an approved Mountfield service dealer.
On walk-behind machines and handheld products, delivery and collection of the machine is the owner’s responsibility and is not covered by this policy.
Warranty Periods
The warranty period starts from the date of purchase by the consumer.
Warranty periods are those effective at the time of purchase and published in Mountfield literature and on our websites. Warranties are conditional on the product being used domestically and being serviced at the recommended intervals.
For products used commercially (i.e. for hire or by contractors, local councils, caravan sites, water authorities, or any similar use where the machine is employed for financial gain or is instrumental in being employed on properties being used for financial gain) the warranty period will be 90 days, unless otherwise stated.
Batteries and chargers on all petrol products carry a 12-month warranty.
Batteries and chargers for dedicated Lithium-Ion powered machinery will have a warranty length varying from 2 years, subject to extended warranty requirements. Please check this with your place of purchase.
Should a product be replaced under warranty, the warranty period will remain effective from the original date of purchase.
Mountfield 5 Year Extended Warranty – Effective 01st October 2023
Any STIGA product (excluding spare parts & accessories) purchased online or direct from a Mountfield authorised retailer from 01st October 2023 will qualify for 5 years extended warranty subject to the below terms and conditions
Exclusions
- The Mountfield Warranty will NOT cover the following:
- Consumable items, e.g. tyres, belts, blade bosses and blades (unless accompanied by evidence, satisfactory to Stiga Ltd., of mechanical failure).
- Second-hand goods.
- Defects which, in the opinion of Mountfield, are in any way, or to any extent, attributed to:
- ordinary wear and tear;
- misuse / accidental damage;
- failure to carry out the handling and operating instructions set out in the Owner’s Instruction Manual;
- lack of reasonable care;
- the fitting of parts, replacements or extra components which are not supplied or approved by Mountfield;
- contaminated/stale fuel.
- Products currently stored outside of the United Kingdom.
- Periodic maintenance services instructed by the operator’s manual, or service replacement parts which would include oil, filters, batteries, belts, brake linings, cables, fabric grass bags, fuses and other service parts unless it can be proven that the item has evidence of faulty manufacture. These items can fail due to normal wear, or through lack of maintenance.
- The Mountfield Warranty will NOT cover the following:
Product Registration
Your new purchase should be registered with Mountfield using the warranty card supplied with your machine or by creating an account in ‘MyMountfield’ and registering your new purchase online at www.mountfieldlawnmowers.co.uk/productregistration. To validate your warranty in the event of a repair, the original proof of purchase will need to be shown to the repairing dealer, unless you have registered your product in ‘MyMountfield and uploaded your proof of purchase. Without original proof of purchase, this policy will not apply.
Powered by Stiga Engines Warranty (2023 onwards)
Qualifying Stiga engines will carry a 2+1-year conditional warranty from the date of purchase when used domestically. This warranty is not transferable.
To maintain your warranty, your machine must be serviced by a Mountfield-authorised service centre. Your local centre can be found at www.mountfieldlawnmowers.co.uk or www.servicelink.org.uk.
Your product must be registered within 30 days of purchase.
To maintain a 3-year warranty, the machine must be serviced before the end of the 2nd year of ownership and annually thereafter. Evidence of servicing will need to be produced when making a claim. Failure to keep the machine serviced at these intervals will result in the warranty reverting to a standard 2-year period.
Servicing / Mountfield 3 or 5-Year Warranty
Qualifying Mountfield products will carry a 3-year or 5-year conditional warranty from the date of purchase when used domestically. This warranty is not transferable.

For qualifying cordless products, a diagnostic report will be carried out at the annual service, which must include the tool/lawnmower, battery and charger.
Please be aware that when using your machine in certain conditions, it will require additional servicing or maintenance as recommended in your user manual.
These conditions include, but are not limited to:
- wet weather
- dry and dusty conditions
- high temperatures
- daily use of the machine.
Spare Parts
Please note that spare part purchases are excluded from this warranty policy.
STIGA Ltd. may use its discretion, in exceptional circumstances to replace a part that is deemed faulty, subsequent to fitting by an authorised service dealer.
Disclaimer
The warranty is only applicable for defects of Mountfield Products.
No person is authorised to make any warranties, representations or promises, expressed or implied, on behalf of Stiga Ltd., or to modify the terms, conditions or limitations of this warranty policy in any way.
Stiga Ltd. will under no circumstances be liable for any special incidental or consequential damages, including, but not limited to, personal injury, property damage, damage to or loss of equipment, lost profits or revenue, costs of renting replacements and other additional expenses.
Except as stated above Stiga Ltd., makes no guarantee expressed or implied regarding product quality, performance, accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or otherwise.
Stiga Ltd.’s obligations under this warranty are to repair or replace any faulty products meeting the above terms. The decision between repair or replacement will be entirely at Stiga Ltd.’s discretion.
The Mountfield Warranty is provided in addition to your statutory rights.
