C. Items not covered under this warranty.
Not all product failures or malfunctions that occur during the warranty period are defects in materials or workmanship. This warranty does not cover the following.
1. Items which fail due to normal wear, such as but not exclusive to belts, bearings, transmissions and electrical motors or components which we expect to wear and warrant for 12 months on home product and 12 months or 500 hours whichever is sooner on sports product.
2. Repairs or attempted repairs by anyone other than an authorised Allett Dealer, Repair Centre or competent person.
3. Failure to follow the fuelling and lubrication instructions and requirements. Please consult the operator’s manual for details including:
- Use of old fuel (more than 1 month old) or fuel which contains more than 10% ethanol or more than 15% MTBE.
- Failure to drain the fuel system prior to any period of non-use over 1 month.
- Improper Fuel.
4. Repairs or adjustments due to the following
- Contaminants in the fuel system.
- Failure to preform the required maintenance and / or adjustments.
- Cylinder or blade striking object or incorrect adjustment.
- Improper starting procedures.
5. Product failures resulting from the use of modified or unapproved accessories or non-genuine Allett Ltd parts.
6. Failures caused by outside influence, including but not exclusive to weather, storage practises, contamination, rodent attack or the use of unapproved lubricants, additives or chemicals.
7. Paint durability on moving parts or parts which are ground contacting are not included in this warranty such as but not exclusive to rear rollers, cylinders etc, the expectancy is that the paint will start to wear off these components immediately on use.
8. Consumables used during normal maintenance or parts such as fuel, lubricants, oil changes, cable / linkage adjustments, spark plugs, air filters, belts, blade sharpening or wear / accidental damaged blades, and brake / clutch adjustments are not covered under this warranty unless accompanied by evidence satisfactory to Allett Ltd of a manufacturing defect and certainly not after the parts are due for scheduled replacement by scheduled routine maintenance.
9. Warranty on engine parts or performance is covered by the engine manufacturer’s separate warranty and should be handled by the engine manufacturer’s representative. The engine manufacturer’s warranty can be found in the engine manufacturer operator’s manual included with the new product.
10. Warranty on batteries and battery chargers is covered by their manufacturer and reference should be made to the relevant manufacturer’s webpage for their separate warranty returns procedure and respective dealer networks.
11. Any alteration of the original design or specification of the product without Allett Ltd Technical Department’s written consent or use of non-original Allett Ltd specification parts will void the warranty on all areas of the product the modification or parts affect.
12. Using the product for any purpose or area for which it was not intended including mowing
areas above the maximum size the product was specified in Allett Ltd.’s endurance testing.
D. Shipping of product.
Damage during transport is the responsibility of the carrier and as such prior to signing the carrier’s delivery note and consequent hand over the condition of the whole consignment should be checked to ensure that it is being received in good condition. If it is not, you will need to reject the goods at that point. If damage is found after delivery both evidence in writing with photos of the damage must be submitted to the Allett Ltd Dealer within 3 days of receipt for the reseller to make a claim against the carrier. Neither Allett Ltd nor our authorised Dealers will accept claims for damage caused due to freight outside of this period.
If Allett Ltd agree to replace or refund a product, the product must be returned to the authorised Allett Ltd Dealer from where the product was purchased including its original packaging and all accessories and documentation. Any items missing will be deducted from the refund at their current retail price.
E. Securing warranty service.
For the purpose of the warranty an Authorised Allett Ltd Dealer is obligated under an agreement with Allett Ltd to sell and or repair and service Allett Ltd product. To secure warranty service, the purchaser must: –
1. Report the product defect to an Authorised Allett Ltd Dealer and request a repair within the applicable warranty period.
2. Present proof of purchase including purchase date or date of delivery to the purchaser. This must include the serial number and description of the product, the purchasers complete name and delivery address and the date of purchase and delivery.
3. The purchaser must provide a detailed description of the fault.
F. Consequential Damages.
Neither the Authorised Allett Ltd Dealer nor Allett Ltd shall be liable in any event or manner whatsoever for incidental or consequential damages or injuries including but not limited to loss of profits, rental or substitute equipment or other commercial loss.
This warranty gives the purchaser specific legal rights and are in addition to any statutory rights to which you may be entitled. Your statutory rights are not affected by this warranty.
