The UK’s largest forestry, woodland, arboriculture, fencing, and biomass show, APF Exhibition, brings together the forestry, tree care, & woodland industries. The APF started in 1960, over 42 years ago, since the beginning they have worked to connect professionals with some of the best suppliers & manufacturers in the industry. The APF Exhibition is the place for those in tree care to talk with both worldwide brands like Husqvarna, STIHL, and Arbortec, as well as up-and-coming startups bringing innovative new concepts to the industry.
Buxtons have been going to the APF show for over 25 years. Neale, our Managing Director, hasn’t missed one since our first in 1996. He’s amazed by the growth of the show and is keen to continue to support it as it continues to develop.
The APF Exhibition has adapted with each year it’s run. Once a small gathering of foresters looking for an alternative to the Institute of Foresters, the show is now one of the biggest of its kind bringing together people from all across the country & the world.
As an integral part of our arb industry, we keep our showroom open throughout the show, the setup team consists of just the Managing Director & his family, allowing the other staff to continue to run the shop as usual. The setup team gets all hands on deck the Sunday before the show to give plenty of time to get all of our stands and stock set up ready. Essentially setting up a whole new shop in a field for 3 days, takes a lot of effort and more time than you would think!
It’s always a relief when all the setup is done and we’re ready to welcome customers, regulars as well as those we only see face to face at the show. Catching up with you all is our favorite part of the whole thing, and makes it all worth it.
For 2022, ETC joined our stand to help demonstrate and explain the different climbing equipment and techniques. With decades of experience in tree surgery contracting, consultancy, and training in the UK and overseas, the team at The Environmental Training Centre, based in Stafford, provides some of the best practical & theory-based training for Arboriculture, Forestry, Landscaping, & other environmental industries. They were the obvious choice for helping customers understand what kit they should be looking at and how they can get the most out of it.
The APF Exhibition is really a must-attend event for anyone in the tree care industry, as well as the countless exhibitors stands, it also hosts the pole climbing world championships and the APF European Chainsaw Carving Championships.
Check out the winner of the chainsaw carving competition. This year STIHL showed off the new MSA220 T Chainsaw in several demos. Harkie released brand new climbing and lowering rope.
2022 saw our best APF yet, we’re so glad to have loads of positive feedback from customers that attended. Thank you to everyone who came and visited our tent, we’re looking forward to the next one already.
